Vagina Tightening Procedure

Procedures aimed at restoring the vagina to its former structure are also called vagina rejuvenation. Generally, there are two types of processes; vaginoplasty and laser vaginal rejuvenation. Vaginoplasty, which is a surgical procedure, also differs in itself. The most commonly practiced is the "posterior repair" operation. Vaginal rejuvenation with a laser provides some tightening and increased sensitivity with the help of heat. Both plastic surgeons and gynecologists can perform vaginal tightening operations. 

During the procedure, a triangular incision is made through the vagina, and tissue is removed. The narrowing is obtained by applying transverse sutures then. In the meantime, the posterior wall of the vagina is completely narrowed. In some cases, if there is a problem with the pelvic muscles, they are also brought closer together. Thus, it is increased the tightness of the muscles.

The larger the vagina is, the more the procedure is performed. With vaginal tightening operations, internal and external narrowing is provided in the vagina. In patients with advanced vaginal enlargement, narrowing of up to 8 cm can be seen. While the depth of the vagina does not change, the canal is completely tightened.

Aftercare for Vaginoplasty

After the vaginal tightening operation, the patient should follow the surgeon's instructions. In order to have a quick recovery process and return to normal life, the issues that need special attention are as follows:

• Heavy exercises should be avoided for a while,
• The surgical area should be kept clean,
• Regular care should not be neglected,
• It should be given importance to toilets.

Vaginoplasty Recovery Period

Vaginoplasty surgeries are usually performed under local anesthesia. Depending on the type and content of vaginal tightening surgery, the recovery period may also vary. Generally, the recovery process after vaginoplasty takes 2 weeks. Swelling and mild pain may be observed during this period.
